I have been photographing weddings and families, first in Fort Worth,
Texas and now in Mississippi, for 19 years.
I specialize in location portraiture and journalistic. or documentary,
style wedding coverage.
I believe a successful documentary wedding photographer is able to
capture the day as it happens. Being ready for anything! Although I
realize SOME time must be spent posing family shots - these can be
done efficiently and quickly. So much is lost forever when a
journalistic photographer spends hours shooting posed shots.
With this type of coverage - years from now you can relive the day and
remember all the happiness you felt as it unfolded. You won't
remember tense schedules, stiff smiles and endless directions for poses.
I feel I have done my best work when a bride or her mother can tell me
afterwards "I didn't even notice you working!" as they page through
their portraits.
This same philosophy applies to my approach to photographing
children and families.
